Foundation programs are for the international students who have successfully completed their high school exams, have studied less than 13 years of education and would like to take the first degree in the UK.

Foundation programs are for the international students who have successfully completed their high school exams, have studied less than 13 years of education and would like to take the first degree in the UK. In that case you will need to study a foundation course at a UK university or college. A foundation is a one year preparation course for international students who need additional English language and academic preparation for entry onto a UK university undergraduate course.

The minimum academic levels required for entry to the International Foundation Year is Higher Secondary School Certificate or GCSEs (General Certificates of Secondary Education); for Kuwait Successful completion of Shahadat-al-thanawia-al-a’ama (General Secondary School Leaving Certificate) average grade 60% or above, including relevant subjects. Please note in addition for Pharmacy (MPharm) progression degree only a minimum Mathematics at grade C (or 4) or NARIC (National Academic Recognition Information Centre) equivalent will be needed.

For the International Foundation Year, it’s required IELTS 4.5 (with a minimum 4.0 in each component) in UKVI IELTS for UKVI (Academic). But for the progression to Pharmacy (MPharm) and some special cases Academic IELTS for UKVI 5.5 or above overall and in all skills.
