SAIT: Southern Alberta Institute of Technology
OVERVIEW
The Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) is built on passion — shared by our students, faculty and staff — to shape new worlds as entrepreneurs, leaders and community builders.
Students in a variety of programs can be part of the important research happening on campus. Through practicum placement, capstone projects and as research assistants, students have opportunities to collaborate with industry partners and researchers in SAIT’s Applied Research and Innovation Services.
SAIT works closely with industry, government and other post-secondaries to provide skilled workers who can fuel local, national and global economies. We have cultivated partnerships that allow our students to make connections beyond SAIT, beyond Calgary and even beyond Canada.
In the last century, our institution has evolved from a single-building campus with 11 students and seven staff members to a global presence educating approximately 50,000 students every year.
A SAIT education is designed to provide students with practical experience as well as theoretical knowledge. Our classrooms and unique labs provide space for hands-on learning while many programs offer practicums and integrate projects based in real-world industry needs.
